Jewelry Care

Brass

As an alloy of copper, brass tends to darken and develop a patina over time. We encourage you to embrace the natural aging of the material, as it can be quite beautiful. However, if you want the brass surface to keep its shine, you can clean is with a standard brass polish such as Brasso, and a soft microfiber cloth. Another method is to clean it with a little water and a piece of steel wool or the wiry side of a clean dishwashing sponge when necessary. This gives the surface a lovely brushed sheen. Do not do this frequently; only when the surface seems dull.

Hand-painted Surfaces

The hand-painted surfaces of our Flowers from the Moon pieces are sealed using a layer of epoxy resin, which is very durable as long as it does not come into contact with reactive liquids such as perfume or nail polish remover.  To ensure the longevity of your jewels, keep them away from all liquids. Also avoid scratching the hand-painted surface with fingernails, etc.

Silver

Sterling silver has a tendency to tarnish when left exposed. To avoid tarnishing, store your jewelry in a closed box away from sunlight and moisture. Store a small piece of chalk near your jewelry; chalk absorbs moisture and helps prevent tarnishing.
